Paul sees himself as a spiritual being in a human body, on a healing journey, in this life to learn lessons, to connect with his soul, and to live in accordance with his life purpose. Part of his life purpose has been to share the gift of IFS with others, all the transformations that become possible when we recognize the truths that IFS reveals to us. Paul is married to the love of his life and has two grown children from whom he has learned a great deal. He is an IFS senior co-lead trainer, taught a monthly seminar for level 1 graduates for over 20 years, and currently provides IFS consultation for individuals and groups. He has given workshops on The Therapeutic Relationship and the Power of Presence in IFS; Befriending and Valuing Self-Like Parts; The Gifts of Our Exiles: Reconnecting with Our True Self; Direct Access and the Gifts of Protectors; Self-Led Parenting; and a number of other topics. He has written a chapter called “From Reactive to Self-Led Parenting” in a book edited by Martha Sweezy and Ellen Ziskind.
Paul is a clinical social worker who has worked in community mental health and the counseling program of a working class state university, and he has been the director of a community-based counseling and prevention program.
